About Me

Hi, my name is Angela and welcome to my blog. This is a place where I write about my life in an honest and open way.

I am 36 years old, single, and a Christian. God gave me a heart to work with children and so I spend my day teaching kindergarten. It is my fourth year teaching and although it is hard I love it. I currently go to a college for my BA in Elementary Education which keeps me busy. Between work and school there is not much time left but I enjoy serving and helping others, watching netflix, or reading a good book.

A bumpy week

This week I have had some digestive issues. I have been trying to figure out what was up since two weeks ago I was sick too. I figured it out..it seems I am now extremely lactose intolerant. Like extremely! Now you may say, no big deal. But that is like all I eat. Breakfast" Kefir (yogurt), lunch: sandwich with cheese and cup of yogurt dinner: always has cheese and desert: ice cream. I love dairy, my whole fridge is full of dairy. I keep not eating because I don't know what to eat. I have some lactaid pills but I wouldn't want to take them for every meal. So I need to learn to eat differently again. I want to continue to eat healthy as I have been but I need to figure out how to take the dairy out. It has been very frustrating idea not eating dairy. Sometimes I feel like its like asking me not to breath. But I guess it is supposed to be healthier so maybe their is a brighter side.

Friday night my car overheated while I was out in Scottsdale. It took a little over an hour for what should have been a 30 min drive. I took it to a shop this morning and it was my heater and bi-pass hoses which apparently aren't in stock in AZ. I feel like the guy was pretty cool and found a way to replace the hoses with other parts till I can get in again. But then I keep thinking about it and I had to pay for labor today and then will have to pay the labor again when the correct parts come in. But I guess it was my decision to have the car now instead of waiting till wednesday. So I guess I am pretty happy that he was willing to work on it and fix it up for me even though it was perfect. Though I do have to say you should totally get your coolant flushed before the car is 10 years old because apparently the coolant eats away at stuff. So I have my car back but I do have to take it back in as soon as I have some more money. Cars are expensive! :( Oh and my emissions are due and I am not sure if I will pass so that will make this month extra special. I am thinking I should do the emission test before paying the other $500 to get my car fixed but I don't know. Grrr

As I mentioned in my last post this last week I had two gym memberships. One for Curves and one for 24 hour Fitness. But with my digestive issues I couldn't go very often which was frustrating. Oh and 24 hour fitness still hasn't called me about the Fitness Orientation but I will go in on Monday and take care of that. So I had told you last week that I had lost 1/2 and inch on my waist but gained 8 lbs. I knew it couldn't be correct. This week I didn't eat much and exercised some. This week I lost another 1/2 inch so I am at a 49" waist!! And I lost 11 lbs. The weight loss is just weird due to the previous weeks gain, but I am happy that I am down to 255 lbs. Now that is pretty cool.

So 90 days ago I made this chart that said "90 days to victory." It was so I could track when I exercised. I write it down and see how I am doing for the week. Plus I mark down my weight and waist at the end of each week. Over the last 90 days I have gained and lost the same 8 lbs over and over. Ok, as you know I haven't fluctuated that much just a few pounds up and down, up and down. But I am so very happy that I have maintained my weight loss since Jan. Those 20 lbs definitely not coming back. I am also excited about the inches lost as well. I think (am hoping at least) that it is the strength training at Curves I have been doing over the last month that has been helping my waist line. I want to retake my other measurements as well so maybe they have gone down too. I am hopefully excited about the idea of that. :)

Alright, I am going to watch Leap Year and have some popcorn.
